Jekaterina Rojaka appointed Vice-Minister of the Economy and Innovation

Today, economist Jekaterina Rojaka is taking up her duties as Vice-Minister of the Economy and Innovation. She will be responsible for coordinating EU investment and enterprise policymaking. 

‘At the end of last year, Jekaterina Rojaka  joined the Ministry’s team as Adviser to the Minister; her knowledge and experience contributed significantly to the Ministry’s reorganization processes, in particular in the field of analytical resources formation. After Vice-Minister Gediminas Miškinis took up the post of Director of the Civil Service Department, the Vice-Minister of the Economy and Innovation’s position was entrusted to Jekaterina Rojaka, who is a professional in her field and who will be responsible for coordinating EU investment and enterprise policymaking,’ says Minister of the Economy and Innovation Virginijus Sinkevičius.

Since the end of October 2018, Jekaterina Rojaka served as Adviser to Minister Virginijus Sinkevičius and was responsible for macroeconomic analysis and the development of the Ministry’s analytical resources. Previously, for 15 years Jekaterina Rojaka  has worked for the Bank DnB NORD as Chief Economist and Head of the Economic  Research Department  at DNB Markets. She also worked for the World Bank, was an economist at the Bank of Lithuania, a lecturer at Vilnius University and ISM University of Management and Economics; now, she is a lecturer at  Vilnius Gediminas Technical University.

Minister of the Economy and Innovation Virginijus Sinkevičius has a team of three other Vice-Ministers, including Gintaras Vilda, who is responsible for innovation, industrial and trade policy, Marius Skuodis, responsible for the improvement of investment environment, export promotion and investment issues and Elijus Čivilis, responsible for the consolidation and optimised management of the national information resources infrastructure and the national tourism policy.
