Two Vice-Ministers take office

Gintaras Vilda and Marius Skuodis are taking up their duties as Vice-Ministers this week.

53-year-old Gintaras Vilda will be in charge of innovation policy, industry and trade; 32-year-old Marius Skuodis will supervise the investment environment, export promotion and EU investment.

Before becoming Vice-Minister, Gintaras Vilda was Director of the Lithuanian Engineering Industry Association (LINPRA) and Chairman of the Board of public body Intechcentras.

In more than 20 years, Gintaras Vilda  served Director of public body Republican Energy Professionals Training Centre and UAB  Šiaurės Žiedas; he was Chief Production Officer and Member of the Board of UAB Arginta Engineering and Business Development Director at UAB Elektromontuotojas; also, he was Head of the Strategy Department an at AB Vakarų Skirstomieji Tinklai (presently AB ESO).

Gintaras Vilda is electrical engineer by profession. He completed electrical engineering studies at Kaunas University of Technology.

Before becoming Vice-Minister, Marius Skuodis was Director of the International Relations Department of the Bank of Lithuania. Also, he has served as Chief Official at the EU Policy Department of the Office of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, Analyst at public body the Public Policy and Management Institute (PPMI), lecturer at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University.

Marius Skuodis has acquired a qualifying degree of Bachelor of Political Science and of Master of Political Science at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University and a qualifying degree of Master of Public Administration (Public and Economic Policy) at London School of Economics and Political Science. In 2012–2016, he was a PhD student of social (political) science at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science.
