A. Armonaitė discusses business opportunities in Lithuania with South Korean business giant

Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė met with Tae-won Chey, CEO of the South Korean business corporation SK Group, who arrived in Lithuania to discuss opportunities for the company to expand its operations in Lithuania.
"The second largest South Korean business corporation sees Lithuania as a potential country for the expansion of its activities in Europe, and this is a very important step in the cooperation between Lithuania and South Korea. We discussed concrete expectations and prospects for expansion, which could also ensure the creation of new opportunities for both Lithuania and South Korea," said Minister of the Economy and Innovation A. Armonaitė.
The meeting was also attended by other representatives of SK Group, who came to Lithuania and plan to establish partnership relations in Lithuania. Based in South Korea, SK Group owns more than 120 companies in the fields of energy, life sciences, advanced materials, mobility and semiconductors.
In September last year, the Minister met with the leaders of SK Group, a South Korean conglomerate, and in May she met with representatives of SK E&S, one of the largest oil and gas companies in Asia.
During her visit to South Korea, the Minister also met with the CEO of SK Hynix, the world's leading semiconductor company, and presented Lithuanian laser companies.
In 2012, trade between Lithuania and South Korea reached EUR 211 million. Our exports to South Korea amounted to EUR 114 million and imports to EUR 97 million.
