Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė will appoint her current advisor Karolis Žemaitis as the new Deputy Minister, who will be in charge of export, investment and talent attraction issues. He will replace Jovita Neliupšienė in the Ministry's management team, who is returning to diplomatic service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Vice-Ministers will change in September.
"I am very pleased that Karolis Žemaitis, who has worked with me in the same team and has a good knowledge of export, talent and investor attraction, is taking over the mentoring of these issues. I thank Jovita Neliupšienė for her responsible work in this challenging period for the Lithuanian economy," said Armonaitė.
"Today it is more important than ever to ensure Lithuania's investment attractiveness and to increase the competitiveness of Lithuanian businesses in global markets. The Lithuanian economy is ready to face global challenges, but we also need to focus on implementing the necessary changes," said Mr Žemaitis.
K.Žemaitis has been working as an advisor to the Minister since the beginning of the current Government term. Prior to joining EIMIN, he worked as Head of Business Unit at Go Vilnius, Project Manager at Kaunas University of Technology, and at the Invest Lithuania Agency. During his career, K. K.Žemaitis has a degree in Economics and Politics and Marketing and Management from ISM University.
