New Vice-Minister of the Economy and Innovation and Adviser to the Minister take office

From 4 August, Vitalija Jankauskaitė-Milčiuvienė, who had previously worked as Public Relations Adviser to the Minister of the Economy and Innovation, takes the position of  Vice-Minister of the Economy and Innovation, and Jonas Pinskus, former Member of the Seimas, is appointed Adviser to Minister Rimantas Sinkevičius.

Vitalija Jankauskaitė-Milčiuvienė, who has a degree in journalism, has previously worked as Adviser to the Minister of Agriculture, a journalist in LNK, LRT and TV3 televisions. The Vice-Minister will be in charge of tourism issues.

‘Tourism is now going through a really difficult period. The sector representatives have long been expecting Vice-Minister to deal with their questions in particular. I believe that working closely with tourism companies and associations will allow to better hear their needs and respond flexibly to changes in the current situation due to the pandemic,’ – says Vitalija Jankauskaitė-Milčiuvienė.

Jonas Pinskus, an economist, a former member of the Seimas, Deputy Mayor of Vilnius City Municipality, has worked in the private sector recently. Jonas Pinskus will be responsible for issues related to investment projects and will monitor the progress of their implementation; also, he will focus on free economic zones (FEZs) and work with municipalities.

‘Since I was Vice-Mayor of Vilnius responsible for economic and innovation issues for four years, I hope that the experience gained will help address the challenges set by the Minister. One of my main tasks is relations with municipalities and the control of investment projects,’ says Jonas Pinskus.
