Tomas Misevičius, who has many years of management experience, has been appointed Director of the Information Society Development Committee (ISDC) at the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation. The new director starts work today, 27 November.

"We are consistently implementing the digitalisation of the public sector and the economy, and the ISDC, as one of the leading bodies in the implementation of the state's information and communication technology policy, plays a key role in this. I have no doubt that the appointment of a new head with experience in management and business digitalisation will ensure the continuity of existing work and the efficient implementation of future work," said Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė.

The ISDC implements the State's policy on the development of the information society and the management of the re-use of State information resources and documents. It is also the manager of the portal for electronic public and administrative services "Electronic Government Gateway". Currently, 650 electronic public and administrative services are offered through this portal.

"We were looking for a leader and manager who would ensure efficient and effective work in the areas of image, process management, participation in policy-making and quality of services. I am sure that the manager who will join the ISDC team will further strengthen the institution by achieving its goals," says Erika Kuročkina, Deputy Minister of the Economy and Innovation.

T. Misevičius holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Electronics Engineering from Kaunas University of Technology. Previously, Mr. Misevičius held the position of Director of Information Technology at Kesko Senukai Lithuania, as well as the positions of Head of Project Management and Head of Service Management at companies such as Baltic Data Center, TEO LT and Telia Lietuva.

ISDC also acts as the State Information Technology Service Provider, providing information technology services to more than 190 state institutions. In addition, it ensures the storage of backup copies of the main state registers. IVPK also manages the Lithuanian Open Data Portal.
