The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation has launched an additional call for €8.85 million for Lithuanian industrial companies planning to implement energy-efficient production technologies.

Lithuania ranks 7th in the European eGovernment Benchmark 2023, the European Commission's European e-Government assessment study, and is among the leading countries in the group of countries with the most technologically advanced public electronic services. Last year, Lithuania ranked 8th.

During the first space industry event "Vilnius Space Days", the Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė met with representatives of the US space company SpaceX and invited the US company to expand its activities in Lithuania - to carry out research and develop technologies in Lithuania.

This year, Lithuania ranked 34th among 132 countries in the World Innovation Index, which measures the level of development of the innovation ecosystem. Over the year, Lithuania's position in the World Innovation Index rose by a record 5 places.

Today, 19 September, the Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė will meet Richard Lee, CEO of Lotte Biologics, a South Korean company belonging to one of the largest pharmaceutical groups, Lotte Group.

Representatives of Lithuanian small and medium-sized businesses are encouraged to develop and improve employee skills. The instrument aimed for this purpose will be open to companies in both the capital and central and western regions of Lithuania and the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation will allocate € 7.5 million.

On Monday, 11 September, the Lithuanian Laser Laboratory was opened in Taiwan, with the aim to accelerate the development of laser and other new technologies.

Today, Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė and Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov agreed to strengthen cooperation in Ukraine's reconstruction and expand the partnership between the two countries in the fields of economy, transport, education and other areas.

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation is inviting Lithuanian diaspora organisations to apply for funding for activities aimed at attracting investment and talent to Lithuania, expanding the country's export markets, and boosting inbound tourist flows.

Lithuanian industry has the opportunity to develop innovative, environmentally friendly and sustainable products and technologies by recycling waste. The Ministry of Economy and Innovation plans to allocate EUR 8 million for this purpose.
