On Thursday, 24 August, the Minister for Economic Affairs and Innovation, Aušrinė Armonaitė, will attend the opening ceremony of the new VMG Akmenės baldai factory in Akmenė district. On Thursday, the Minister will also meet with the Mayor of Šiauliai, Artūras Visockas, to discuss infrastructure projects important for business development in the city.
"The opening of a new modern factory is an important event for the whole North-Western region of Lithuania. The company's investment will create more than 500 new jobs. This will contribute to faster growth in the whole region," said Minister of yhe Economy and Innovation A. Armonaitė.
VMG Group will open a furniture factory in the Akmenė Free Zone. The investment in this industrial facility amounts to over EUR 82 million.
At present, the Akmenė Free Economic Zone (FEZ) has an investment of EUR 260 million and more than 270 jobs.
