A. Armonaitė will meet with representatives of technology companies Apple and Amazon Web Services

Today, 10 April, the Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė will meet with representatives of major technology companies Apple and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to present Lithuania's investment environment and conditions for technology companies to set up in Lithuania.

"Lithuania's technology sector has been growing steadily in recent years, attracting the attention of the world's largest technology companies. We aim to be the region's innovation centre and technology leader, and cooperation with major global players would contribute to accelerating the sector's growth," said Aušrinė Armonaitė, the Minister of the Economy and Innovation.

In a meeting with Bruno Bernard, Apple's Senior Manager for European Government Affairs, the Minister will further discuss the prospects for the development of the technology sector and digitalisation, as well as new trends in this area.

Apple is one of the world's largest technology companies, creating and developing advanced technological solutions, producing electronic goods, software and online services.

Later, Minister A. Armonaitė will meet with representatives of cloud services company Amazon Web Services - Max Peterson, Vice President for AWS Sovereign Cloud, and Mariusz Mielczarek, Director of Public Policy for Central and Eastern Europe - to discuss the company's plans for Europe.

Both AWS and Amazon are interested in opportunities in Europe, including the fast-growing Central and Eastern European region. Lithuania, like several other countries in the region, has a strong technology ecosystem and is rapidly moving down the path of digital transformation, deploying advanced digital solutions that require modern infrastructure such as the cloud.

Meetings with company representatives will take place during the Three Seas Initiative Business Forum, which will bring together policy makers and business representatives in Vilnius. It will discuss regional development, support and reconstruction in Ukraine, building digital infrastructure, strengthening cyber security in the region, etc.
