Lithuania has the potential to further strengthen its space related activities and these ambitions, along with possible collaboration, were discussed by Vice Minister of Economy and Innovation Erika Kuročkina and Sweden’s leading space and satellite communications company Ovzon and its EVP BD and founder Per Wahlberg.
"We presented our country's investment and manufacturing potential and invited 'Ovzon' to collaborate in the field of space. In recent years, Lithuanian space companies have attracted more than 5 million Euros in investments, and as an example Lithuania's world leading laser industry, one of the country's strongest high-tech sectors, with around 60 companies and approximately 1,600 highly qualified specialists. Therefore, the opportunity to further strengthen these sectors would enhance Lithuania's competitive advantage," said Vice Minister of Economy and Innovation Erika Kuročkina.
During the meeting, the Swedish company's representatives were also introduced to investment incentives in Lithuania, such as the green corridor for large investment projects and the opportunity to operate in free economic zones.
