EUR 1 billion for the Lithuanian economy: EUR 5 million to find new markets and expand existing ones

The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation is launching a EUR 5 million call for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Central and Western Lithuania region. This investment will promote the internationalisation of these enterprises and the search for new export markets and the expansion of existing markets.

"We are creating more opportunities for our country's businesses to gain a foothold in priority markets and enter new ones. With this funding, we are enabling our businesses to increase their exports and expand their potential customer base," said Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of the Economy and Innovation.

The maximum funding available for a project is EUR 100 000.

"This will give businesses more opportunities to conduct market research, marketing activities and develop contacts with strategic partners abroad. It will also make it easier and simpler for companies to certify products and services and to make use of the competences of an export manager," said Iveta Paludnevičiūtė, Chancellor of the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation.

Project implementation plans can be submitted to the Public Innovation Agency until  29 December of this year.

The full terms and conditions of the call are available on the European Union Investment website.

To strengthen the Lithuanian economy, the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation will launch calls for funded activities totalling almost EUR 1 billion by the end of 2023. Around EUR 365 million is earmarked for business, innovation and investment, EUR 320 million for digitalisation of the state and business, and EUR 268 million for a greener economy.

The "Expo Opportunities (Central and Western Lithuania)" measure is implemented under the European Union Funds Investment Programme for the period 2021-2027.
