Biennial regulatory burden plans
The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation prepares plans for reducing regulatory burden that are drawn up for two years, during which the authorities in certain areas of legal regulation must reduce the regulatory burden and achieve a set reduction target. During preparation of the latest regulatory burden reduction plan, relevant institutions and stakeholders were consulted. According to their feedback on the most burdensome legislation, a working group was set up to examine various proposals and burden reduction options in selected sectors. The result was the Sectoral Plan for Reducing Regulatory Burden for 2023-2024. The plan is not approved by an official legal act but rather serves as guidance for institutions, the Government, and the Parliament. Published on the website of the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation, the 2023-2024 plan identifies three sectors: healthcare, the manufacturing industry, and food safety and catering. The authorities responsible for implementing the plan (chosen according to the sectors covered) have successfully reduced the regulatory burden in these three sectors by a total of 2.1 million euros in 2023.
