€10 million investment for regional industrial enterprises to develop sustainable technologies

The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation (EIMIN) has announced a funding call for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Central and Western Lithuania regions. The funding is intended to support the development of innovative, environmentally friendly technologies. Up to €10 million has been earmarked for this purpose.

'The future of Lithuanian industry lies in innovation, technology and sustainability, which will help create greater added value more quickly. It is therefore crucial to foster an environment that enables micro, small, and medium-sized industrial enterprises in Lithuania's regions to implement new solutions, invest in modern technologies, and reduce their environmental footprint. By allocating investment for this purpose, we will strengthen the competitiveness of our industry and create conditions that allow business and academia to develop and test environmentally friendly, innovative technological solutions together in practice,' says Edvinas Grikšas, Minister of the Economy and Innovation.

Investment will be allocated to projects that develop technologies to reduce negative environmental impact, conserve resources, and manufacture sustainable products. Companies receiving funding will be able to invest in research and experimental development (R&D), patent the solutions they have developed, and prepare new products for market launch.

Industrial SMEs in the Central and Western Lithuania regions will be eligible to apply for funding ranging from 50,000 to 500,000 euros. Up to €30,000 may also be allocated for patenting the products developed and up to €50,000 for preparing a new product for the market.

Projects will be selected through a competitive process. While industrial SMEs can apply for funding, other SMEs, as well as research and higher education institutions and large enterprises, can participate in project implementation.

Applications for funding can be submitted to the Innovation Agency until 29 January 2027.

The ‘Green Experiment’ scheme is funded by the European Union.
