A. Armonaitė and the Executives of Continental Have Discussed the Plans for Expansion in Lithuania

The Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė met with the management of Continental AG in Germany and discussed the plans for expansion in Lithuania. 

‘Continental is one of the largest investors in Lithuania. It is important that the world’s largest companies, which create high added value products, choose Lithuania for their expansion, which is a sign of trust in our country,’ says the Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė.

During the meeting, the opportunities for investing in research and development projects, as well as the development of new technologies in the field of transport were discussed. The Minister drew attention to the large supply of highly qualified and skilled professionals in Lithuania and said that the activities of companies such as Continental contributed to the growth of the country’s engineering industry and technology sector. 

Continental Automotive Lithuania was established in Kaunas Free Economic Zone several years ago and currently implements the expansion projects. In 2022, Continental also opened a service centre, namely, Continental Tires Business Services, which provides data analytics, process management and administration functions in Lithuania.

Continental which was founded in 1871 develops innovative technologies and services for the sustainable movement of people and goods. In 2022, Continental had a turnover of EUR 39.4 billion.
