A. Armonaitė introduced Lithuanian laser companies to SK Hynix representatives

During her visit to South Korea, Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė met with Kwak Noh Jung, Head of the world's leading semiconductor company SK Hynix, and presented Lithuanian laser companies. The meeting was also attended by representatives of Lithuanian companies  laser manufacturers - Light Conversion, Ekspla, Litilit, QS Lasers, Standa, Altechna, Optoman and Akoneer - as well as representatives of the Centre for Physical Sciences and Technology and Lithuanian Laser Association.

"We are consistently striving to strengthen our economic relations with South Korea - in 2021 our Embassy was opened there, and last year the Lithuanian Commercial Attaché started his work. I have no doubt that the meeting with one of the world's largest producers of memory semiconductors will help Lithuania to establish even closer cooperation relations in the future, and will encourage the semiconductor chip industry to move forward even more rapidly and to match the strongest representatives in this field," said the Minister of Economy and Innovation.

The Minister, together with representatives of eight Lithuanian laser companies, heads of the Centre for Physical and Technological Sciences and the Lithuanian Laser Association, also had the opportunity to visit the factory of SK Hynix, the world's second-largest producer of memory chips.

"SK Hynix specialises in the production of dynamic random access memory chips, which are essential for high-speed data storage and access to computer systems. The company's laboratory is also dedicated to research and development, fostering innovation in memory chip technology and continuously improving chip density, speed and energy efficiency. Last year, the company had sales of €31.7 billion and profits of €4.87 billion.
