A. Armonaitė meets representatives of innovative German companies in Berlin

Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė is visiting Berlin to meet representatives of innovative German companies and to participate in the " Economics Day 2024" conference. 

"Last year, Germany was our country's second largest trading partner and one of our largest investors. More and more German companies are discovering Lithuania and expanding their operations here, creating jobs and contributing to our economic growth. There are more than 500 German companies operating in Lithuania, employing more than 24,000 people," said Minister of the Economy and Innovation A.Armonaitė.   

The Economics day 2024 conference attracts around 6,000 participants from all over Germany every year. At the conference, A. Armonaitė will discuss with the German Minister of Education and Research, Bettina Stark-Watzinger, the promotion of innovation and its impact on economic development. 

During her visit, the Minister will also meet with representatives of innovative companies, including representatives of the defence industry, artificial intelligence solutions, financial technology, software development, such as Autodesk, Dynamit Nobel Defence, VECTED, N26, etc. A.Armonaitė will present investment opportunities in Lithuania to these companies.

The Minister will also meet with representatives of the German space company OHB SE. "OHB is one of the leading space and technology companies in Europe. During the meeting, the sides will discuss opportunities for cooperation in the development of space technologies. Marco Fuchs, CEO of OHB, visited Lithuania this spring to familiarise himself with the country's investment climate.

Germany is one of Lithuania's most important trading partners. In 2023, trade turnover between the two countries amounted to EUR 9.24 billion, with Lithuanian exports to Germany totalling EUR 3.06 billion and imports from Germany EUR 6.17 billion.
