A. Armonaitė will sign an agreement on innovation cooperation in Germany
On 22-24 November, Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė will visit Germany, where she will meet with the management of Continental AG, NTT DATA and one of the largest German automotive groups to discuss their investment and development plans in Lithuania. The Minister will also attend the Innovation Club meeting, where the ministers of Lithuania, Germany, Estonia and Latvia will sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of digitalisation and innovation.
"Germany is one of Lithuania's most important export partners. We are constantly looking for areas where we can further exploit our potential. One of them is the innovation sector, where scientific and technological cooperation will allow the countries to consolidate their positions and be competitive in the global innovation ecosystem," said Minister of the Economy and Innovation A.Armonaitė.
A. Armonaitė is expected to be joined by Volker Wissing, German Federal Minister of Digital Affairs and Transport, Tiit Riisalo, Estonian Minister of Economic Affairs and Information Technology, and Inga Berzina, Latvian Minister of Environment and Regional Development, in signing the agreement on cooperation in developing and implementing an innovation-friendly digital agenda.
During her visit, the Minister will also meet with the Lithuanian community in Munich and visit the Vasario 16-osios grammar school in Hüttenfeld.
Germany is the largest investor in Lithuania and Lithuania's third largest trading partner, with a turnover of €9.7 billion last year.
