EIMIN: An industrial park will be established in Plungė

The government has approved the establishment of an industrial park in Plungė, initiated by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation (EIMIN). It is planned that a modern industrial zone for manufacturing, logistics, and advanced technology companies will be created on an area of more than 100 hectares.

"This project will open up new opportunities for the Plungė region – modern infrastructure, attractive terms for investors, and targeted development mean more strong employers and competitive jobs. Such projects reduce regional gap and create a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth in Lithuania. By 2040, the Plungė Industrial Park is expected to attract nearly €200 million in private investment, which I have no doubt will strengthen the competitiveness of the entire region," says Minister of Economy and Innovation Edvinas Grikšas.

"The establishment of industrial parks in the regions reflects the consistent direction of the Government's program and provides a solid foundation for regional growth. The Plungė Industrial Park will become a significant impetus for attracting investment and creating new, high-quality jobs. This is a long-term investment in the well-being of the people of our district and the sustainable growth of the region," says Audrius Klišonis, Mayor of Plungė District Municipality.

It is expected that the industrial park will help attract investment in the advanced technology manufacturing and service sectors, create more favorable conditions for investors, and ensure consistent economic growth in the region.

The development of the project area's infrastructure will require nearly €13 million in state and municipal funding. Investments will be directed towards the internal road network, engineering networks, car parks, and rainwater collection systems in order to offer investors a cohesive, development-ready area.
