EIMIN grants more than €10 million to improve regional infrastructure

The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation has granted €10.3 million to 12 Lithuanian municipalities for the construction and improvement of infrastructure up to or within the boundaries of investment land plots. 

“By granting the funding, we are helping Lithuanian municipalities to attract high value-added manufacturing and service companies, new investors and stimulate the creation of high added-value jobs. This year, we received a total of 19 applications and all of them were found eligible for funding,” said Aušrinė Armonaitė, Minister of the Economy and Innovation. 

The municipalities of Panevėžys City, Šiauliai City, Kaunas District, Radviliškis District, Klaipėda City, Plungė District, Kėdainiai District, Alytus City, Ukmergė District, Marijampolė District, Mažeikiai District and Lazdijai District were granted funding through a competitive procedure. 

“We have prioritised those projects that have the greatest potential to create new jobs and raise investment. I have no doubt that the funds allocated will help strengthen the country's regions and ensure the growth of the budget of Lithuanian municipalities,” said Ieva Valeškaitė, Vice-Minister of the Economy and Innovation. 

The Panevėžys City Municipality has been granted €26,700 for the repair of Lėkiškio Street to increase the appeal of the Panevėžys FEZ to investors and to stimulate the creation of jobs, and another €490,000 to modernise the infrastructure in Matininkų Street and to install traffic safety measures in Ramygalos Street. 

The Šiauliai City Municipality has been granted €1 million for the installation of surface wastewater engineering networks within the territory of the Šiauliai FEZ and up to the land plot where the implementation of a project having the status of a major project is planned. The municipality has also been granted €122,300 for the construction of transport infrastructure up to the investment land plot where the implementation of a project of regional importance is planned, €36,300 to ensure favourable investment conditions in the territory of the Šiauliai Industrial Park, and EUR 691,900 for the construction of surface water infrastructure up to the investment land plot where a project of regional importance is to be implemented. 

The Kaunas District Municipality has been allocated €2.5 million for the development of the infrastructure of the Kaunas FEZ and €590,900 for the arrangement of the connecting road to the new roundabout in the FEZ. 

€232,700 has been granted to the Radviliškis District Municipality for the construction of a road taking to investment land plots. €276,300 has been allocated to the Klaipėda City Municipality for new construction of the fire water supply network between Verslo and Metalo Streets, and €714,400 for reconstruction and construction project of the water supply and sewage network in Kairių Street.

€197,200 has been allocated to the Plungė District Municipality for repair works on a section of Margirio Street, and €585,600 – to the Kėdainiai District Municipality for the renovation and development of the Kėdainiai town public engineering infrastructure of high importance to business. 

The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation has allocated €114,400 to Alytus City Municipality for the development of the Alytus Industrial Park. €1 million was allocated to the Ukmergė District Municipality, which is planning to reconstruct the Deltuvos Street and to install rainwater drainage networks in Ukmergė. 

€343,500 has been allocated to the Marijampolė Municipality for the management of the Marijampolė FEZ land plot and €902,000 – for the installation of public infrastructure facilities necessary to ensure investments. 

€266,200 has been allocated to the Mažeikiai District Municipality for the improvement of access conditions for investors in the industrial territory of the Mažeikiai District Municipality, and €202,800 has been granted to the Lazdijai District Municipality for the adaptation of the land plot in Jukneliškės village, Lazdijai District Municipality, for business needs.
