Erika Kuročkina will become the new Deputy Minister of the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation (EIMIN)
Erika Kuročkina, who currently advises Minister Aušrinė Armonaitė on innovation, digitalisation and open data issues, will become the new Vice-Minister of the Economy and Innovation. Erika Kuročkina will be appointed Deputy Minister from Monday, 24 April.
"Erika Kuročkina is a true public sector professional. With her extensive experience in Vilnius City Municipality and the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation, she will bring her knowledge and diligence to her new position and make a significant contribution to strengthening innovation in Lithuania's economy and the public sector," said Minister A.Armonaitė.
At the Ministry, E. Kuročkina will be in charge of public procurement, the opening of public data, digitisation measures of the Economic Recovery Plan (ERP), innovation in the public sector (GovTech) and defence innovation, as well as Lithuania's reconstruction projects in Ukraine.
"This is my third year in the Minister's team. I am proud of the recognition of my efforts. I will continue to work to accelerate Lithuania's progress in innovation and digitisation. This is essential for creating more opportunities for the country's businesses and a modern state", said E. Kuročkina.
Following the reassignment of EIMIN Vice-Ministerial portfolios, Karolis Žemaitis has been assigned to tourism from Monday. Deputy Ministers Eglė Markevičiūtė and Ieva Valeškaitė are also part of Minister Armonaitė's team.
