Jonas Sakalauskas wins the selection of the new CEO of Litexpo
Jonas Sakalauskas, who has extensive management experience, has won the competition for the position and has been elected as the new CEO of the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre Litexpo. The new CEO will start his work on 31 July this year.
"We want Litexpo to be a successful and growing state-owned company, so we were looking for an experienced and ambitious CEO. We hope that, with his experience in managing institutions and organising various projects, the new CEO will ensure the development of the company’s activities and create more opportunities for the Baltic region and the international events market,” says Iveta Paludnevičiūtė, Chancellor of the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation.
The selection of the company’s CEO was carried out by the independent Board of Litexpo, using the CEO search and selection company Master Class Lietuva. The appointment of the CEO of Litexpo is for a five-year term of office, with the possibility of being re-elected for a second consecutive term.
“The organisation of the just concluded NATO Summit is the best proof of the maturity and potential of the company and its team. We thank the outgoing CEO Justinas Bortkevičius for his work and leadership and excellent cooperation with all partners in organising this important NATO event. We expect the new CEO to maintain and expand the strategic partnership, increase the share of international events and respond effectively to the changes in this dynamic market,” says Ramutė Ribinskienė, Chairwoman of the Board of Litexpo.
Sakalauskas has previously headed the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Klaipėda State Music Theatre and worked as an independent producer of cultural events. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from ISM and a Master’s degree in Opera Singing from LMTA.

Litexpo is the largest and most modern exhibition and conference centre in the Baltic States. The company, which has been operating since 1960, has many years of experience in organising exhibitions, is active in sales and seeks to lease premises for various types of events: conferences, concerts, filming, product presentations.
Each year, Litexpo organises 20 exhibitions and 1,500 events and conferences, attracting 350,000 visitors.
