Minister of Economy and Innovation E. Grikšas is visiting the U.S. along with a Lithuanian business delegation
Edvinas Grikšas, Minister of Economy and Innovation, is visiting the United States (U.S.) on a working visit, where he will meet with representatives of American artificial intelligence, defense, and financial technology companies, as well as potential investors, and will present Lithuania’s investment environment. Minister E. Grikšas will also participate in the Lithuania–U.S. Business Forum alongside a Lithuanian business delegation consisting of representatives from 23 companies.
“The economic relationship between Lithuania and the U.S. is already significant, but its potential is much greater. The U.S. is Lithuania’s sixth-largest economic partner in terms of total trade volume, and bilateral trade exceeds 3.5 billion euros. Our goal is clear – to open up new opportunities for Lithuanian businesses in the U.S. market and to encourage U.S. companies to view Lithuania as a reliable base for expansion in Europe. We have clear competitive advantages – talent, a well-developed technology ecosystem, and the ability to quickly implement high-value-added projects. This provides Lithuania with a solid foundation for attracting more U.S. investment in the fields of artificial intelligence, defense, and financial technology,” says Edvinas Grikšas, Minister of Economy and Innovation.
During his visit to the U.S., Minister E. Grikšas will meet with representatives of CAST AI, an artificial intelligence infrastructure company, Constellation Network, a developer of secure data transmission and data integrity solutions, and other potential investors. The meetings are expected to cover opportunities for business expansion and investment in Lithuania, collaboration with the country’s technology ecosystem, and the creation of highly skilled jobs.
A meeting is also scheduled with representatives of the cruise line “Carnival Corporation,” with whom E. Grikšas, together with Algis Latakas, CEO of the Port of Klaipėda, will discuss opportunities for cooperation and the Port of Klaipėda’s appeal for cruise shipping.
On September 24, E. Grikšas will participate in the Lithuania–U.S. Business Forum in Miami, where he will present Lithuania’s economy, business opportunities, and investment environment to U.S. government officials, investors, and business leaders. The President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, will also participate in this forum.
The event will bring together business leaders, investors, and public sector representatives from Lithuania and the U.S. The forum will focus primarily on practical cooperation between the two countries, investments by Lithuanian companies in the U.S. and by U.S. companies in Lithuania, economic security, Lithuania’s investment environment, and its growing fintech ecosystem. The forum will feature presentations by Lithuanian companies, networking opportunities, and pre-scheduled bilateral business meetings that will help Lithuanian and U.S. companies discuss specific opportunities for cooperation.
Six associations will also join the business mission: the Investors’ Forum, the Lithuanian Defense and Security Industry Association, the Canada-Lithuania Chamber of Commerce, the Lithuanian Fintech Association, the INFOBALT Association, and the Center for Physical and Technological Sciences.
In 2025, U.S. direct investment in Lithuania totaled nearly 2.8 billion euros, growing by nearly 19 percent year-over-year, with 72 percent of these investments going to manufacturing. Lithuanian investments in the U.S. reached 6 billion euros and increased by more than 38 percent year-over-year. Lithuanian exports of services to the U.S. grew by more than 35 percent year-over-year – to 1.3 billion euros – with telecommunications, computer, and information services accounting for nearly half of that total.
