€70,000 to be allocated to promote inbound tourism to Lithuania
The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation (EIMIN) will distribute €70,000 among inbound tour operators and tourism associations. These funds will enable them to participate in international exhibitions, conferences and other events abroad aimed at showcasing tourism products.
'Every tourist who visits the country creates real added value — it stimulates the growth of local businesses, strengthens regional economies, increases employment, and fosters the creation of new services and experiences. That is why we are making targeted investments in promoting inbound tourism, to attract more tourists and ensure long-term benefits for the country’s economy,' says Guoda Burokienė, Vice Minister of the Economy and Innovation.
Under the updated terms of the Ministry's measure, 'Developing Tourism Infrastructure and Marketing Measures', the pool of eligible applicants has been expanded this year. Funding can now be sought by inbound tourism tour operators and associations uniting at least ten tourism sector companies providing inbound tourism services, as well as by associations uniting at least three tourism information centres.
Organisations that bring together at least three municipalities and actively promote inbound tourism will also be eligible for funding. Additionally, the list of eligible expenses has been expanded to include event space rental and booth setup costs, which are particularly relevant to businesses. The maximum amount of funding allocated per project is 4,000 euros.
Project implementation plans can be submitted from 10:00 on 11 May until 10:00 on 11 June.
Last year, the Ministry approved 32 applications under this measure. The majority of funded projects aimed to establish new business connections, develop sustainable partnerships and strengthen cooperation with participants in the foreign tourism sector.
Project implementers actively participate in international tourism fairs and events, presenting Lithuania’s tourism opportunities and the country's appeal to audiences in different regions of the world.
