A. Armonaitė invites BASF CEO to cooperate with our country's manufacturers

Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė met with Roberto Salmito, CEO of BASF for the Baltic States, and invited the company to expand its activities in Lithuania and to cooperate with our manufacturers.

"Meeting with the world's largest chemical producer, which ensures the company's green development, is a crucial step towards Lithuania's transition to a climate-neutral economy and attracting reliable investors to the country. We can offer a strong reserve of talent and easy conditions to settle in Lithuania, so we are ready to discuss the possibilities of the company's expansion in our country," said Minister of the Economy and Innovation A. Armonaitė.

During the meeting, the company also presented its activities and plans in Lithuania. They exchanged views on the competitiveness of European industry, economic conditions and the mechanisms needed for this transformation.

"We are very pleased with the meeting, where we learned more about the Ministry's policy priorities and presented BASF's activities in Lithuania. As the world's largest chemical company, our strategy is to continue providing sustainable and innovative solutions to our customers. Reducing our carbon footprint along the entire value chain and moving from a linear to a circular economy will play a crucial role in transforming European industry towards climate neutrality," said R. Salmito, BASF's Managing Director for the Baltic States.

Germany's BASF currently employs around 112,000 people who contribute to the industry's activities in almost every country in the world.
