EIMIN continues to invest in inbound tourism

This year, the Ministry of Economy and Innovation (EIMIN) is continuing to strengthen inbound tourism and has allocated nearly €36,000 in funding to 11 projects from tour operators and tourism associations. These funds will enable representatives of the Lithuanian tourism sector to participate actively in international exhibitions and business events, promoting Lithuania more widely to foreign markets.

'We want Lithuania to be visible and attractive as a tourist destination across the globe. Every foreign tourist contributes to the growth of local businesses, the strengthening of regional economies and the development of new services, so we are consistently investing in inbound tourism initiatives that help to attract more visitors and create tangible benefits for our country's economy,' said Guoda Burokienė, Vice Minister of the Economy and Innovation.

Under the "Developing tourism infrastructure and marketing tools" measure, funding is provided to tourism businesses, associations and organisations that plan to actively participate in major international tourism events. The maximum amount of funding allocated to a single project is €4,000.

Most of the funded projects focus on finding new business contacts, establishing long-term partnerships, and cooperating with representatives of the foreign tourism sector. Project implementers also intend to participate in global tourism exhibitions and showcase the tourism potential of different Lithuanian regions. Under this measure, the Ministry allocated €78,000 to 21 tour operator and tourism association projects in August, and €67,000 to 18 projects last year.
