Represent Lithuania – EIMIN is looking for a commercial attaché in Japan!
The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation (EIMIN) is announcing a selection process for the position of Commercial Attaché in Japan. Applications are welcome until 23 July this year.
Japan is one of the world's largest economies, characterised by high-value industries, advanced technologies and a culture of long-term cooperation. Lithuanian companies are already operating successfully in this market, but for some sectors, its potential remains largely untapped. We are therefore looking for someone who can realise this potential, build bridges between Lithuanian businesses and Japanese partners, and raise our country's profile," said Marius Stasiukaitis, Vice-Minister of the Economy and Innovation.
Candidates for this position must have a university degree and at least two years' experience working in international cooperation, international relations and economics. English language skills at level C1 or above are also required. Additionally, candidates must fulfil the other requirements set out in legislation, including the ability to obtain a permit to work with highly classified information.
In recent years, Japan has been included among the priority markets for attracting investment to Lithuania. From 2014 until the beginning of this year, Japanese investors implemented five foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in Lithuania, with a total planned value of almost €136 million and creating 530 jobs.
Meanwhile, trade between Lithuania and Japan reached €172.9 million in 2024. Exports to Japan totalled €104.5 million (€92.8 million of which were goods of Lithuanian origin), while imports amounted to €68.4 million.
