Strengthening cooperation with industry and technology leaders: E. Grikšas visits Germany

The Minister of the Economy and Innovation, Edvinas Grikšas, is visiting Bremen, Germany, on a working trip, where he will meet potential investors — the leaders of major logistics, industrial and space technology companies. The minister will also attend a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the European Space Agency (ESA). The purpose of the visit is to strengthen economic cooperation with Germany and expand opportunities for Lithuania in high-value sectors.

'We are actively working to attract high-value investments to Lithuania. German companies particularly appreciate our logistics infrastructure, port, technological potential and talent, so this visit is an opportunity to further strengthen dialogue and showcase Lithuania's potential to international companies. Our goal is clear: to turn these dialogues into real projects in Lithuania,' says E. Grikšas.

During the visit, the minister will attend the ESA Council meeting in Bremen, where the priorities of European space policy will be discussed. This will give Lithuania an opportunity to strengthen its position in this rapidly growing sector, especially as the country is increasing its investment in ESA programmes and expanding the capabilities of its space industry — from lasers and technologies reaching the International Space Station to large-scale small satellite manufacturing projects.

E.Grikšas will also meet with the space industry company OHB SE and attend a meeting with the Bremen Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK).

In addition, E. Grikšas will visit Bremerhaven, where he will meet with BLG Logistics Group, one of Germany's most important logistics groups. He will discuss further development opportunities with the company's management and present the investment environment in Lithuania. Meetings with other companies operating in the defence and logistics industries are also planned.

According to data from this year, German direct investment in Lithuania amounted to around €5.6 billion in the second quarter. This is almost 2.7% more than last year, accounting for nearly 14% of all foreign direct investment in Lithuania.
