The 19th “Spiečius” opens in Šakiai: a new space for growth and collaboration
Business growth depends not only on good ideas, but also on knowledge, reliable partners, and access to professional assistance. The Innovation Agency’s network of active business spaces, “Spiečius,” helps regional entrepreneurs discover these opportunities. On October 19, a new space opened its doors in Šakiai – here, local entrepreneurs will be able to strengthen their skills, consult with experts, and seek opportunities to expand their businesses.
The “Spiečius” in Šakiai is the 19th in Lithuania, and the network will soon expand to 20 spaces so that even more regional entrepreneurs can take advantage of the support needed for business growth and join a community of like-minded people.
“Every new ‘Spiečius’ location represents yet another opportunity for regional businesses to grow stronger. The 19th active business space, opening its doors today in Šakiai, marks a consistent direction – creating conditions for business to grow throughout Lithuania, regardless of where a company is located. Strong regional businesses mean more jobs, a more vibrant local economy, and greater opportunities for all of Lithuania,” says Edvinas Grikšas, Minister of Economy and Innovation.
According to Martynas Survila, head of the Innovation Department at the Innovation Agency, long-term business growth depends not only on expanding operations but also on constantly seeking ways to work more efficiently and create greater value.
“For small businesses to grow, it is important not only to expand the scale of their operations but also to find ways to work more efficiently, implement innovations, and create greater added value. This requires not only investment and technology but also entrepreneurial expertise, collaboration, and the opportunity to learn from the experiences of other businesses. ‘Spiečius’ helps establish these connections and provides a space where entrepreneurs can seek practical solutions to strengthen their businesses,” says M. Survilas.
According to Raimondas Januševičius, mayor of the Šakiai District Municipality, business is just as important to the local government as every resident who comes to the municipality for help, advice, or services: “The job of municipal specialists is to help people, and from now on, those who are starting or growing a business will also have a place at ‘Spiečius’ and a specialist ready to assist them. We want them to have somewhere to turn, someone to consult with, and to find answers to their questions more easily. After all, by creating jobs, providing services, and generating added value, they contribute to the well-being of the entire district.”
During the event, guests explored the new “Spiečius” space and its possibilities, shared experiences, and made new connections. They also had the opportunity to chat with the “Spiečius” team and learn more about the services offered.
“Spiečius” provides free entrepreneurship support services to business founders: it organizes training sessions and hands-on events, offers individual consultations, conducts mentoring activities, and creates opportunities to establish new business contacts and find partners. “Spiečius” members can also use the workspace and meeting rooms and participate in community activities. The services are designed for both startups and existing small and medium-sized enterprises seeking to strengthen their capabilities and grow.
You’ll find the “Spiečius” business hub at Bažnyčios g. 4, Šakiai.
