8.2 million euros have been allocated to investment infrastructure in 9 municipalities
The Ministry of Economy and Innovation has allocated more than 8.2 million euros in funding for municipal projects aimed at improving infrastructure in investment plots and their access routes. The funds are earmarked for 11 projects in nine municipalities across the country – ranging from road and street maintenance to improving access to free economic zones and industrial areas.
“It’s not just important for an investor to find the right plot of land – it’s also important to be able to start operations there as quickly as possible. If there is no convenient access to the site or if other essential infrastructure is lacking, even a promising investment can stall before it even begins. That is why we are allocating funding to address specific municipal challenges and to develop investment plots so that they meet business needs. Our goal is for at least 30 percent of new investments to go to Lithuania’s regions by 2030,” says Edvinas Grikšas, Minister of Economy and Innovation.
The largest amount of funding – more than 2.3 million euros – has been allocated to the Kaunas District Municipality. The funds will be used to continue developing the infrastructure of the Kaunas Free Economic Zone, with the aim of increasing the supply of investment plots and their attractiveness.

These projects aim to increase the attractiveness of these areas and their access routes to investors and to promote job creation.
The Kaišiadorys District Municipality has been allocated more than 474,000 euros for infrastructure development on an investment plot on Pramonės Street in Kaišiadorys, The Mažeikiai District Municipality has been allocated nearly 390,000 euros for the major renovation of Montuotojų Street and the construction of pedestrian and bicycle paths.
