EU invests €1 million in digitalisation of Lithuanian enterprises
The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation continues to invest in building a digital Lithuania. To encourage micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to improve their digitisation processes, a €1 million call is being launched to provide funding for companies to purchase digitisation and technology services.
"Digitisation is a key area for Lithuania, accounting for around 2% of the country's GDP. In order to make rapid progress and increase the level of digitisation of our country's businesses, we are making it possible for companies to receive funding for consultancy and digital audits in the areas of artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and cybersecurity. This would strengthen the competitiveness of these companies and allow them to adapt more quickly to current market needs," said Aušrinė Armonaitė, the Minister of the Economy and Innovation.
Under this call, EUR 500,000 will be allocated to SMEs in the capital city and in the regions of Central and Western Lithuania. The maximum amount of funding available per project is EUR 6,000.
"Businesses will be able to increase their digital literacy by taking advantage of this funding. In addition, the recommendations and advice on digitalisation provided by the digital audit will identify specific opportunities for SMEs to develop in the field of digitalisation," says Iveta Paludnevičiūtė, the Chancellor of the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation.
Project implementation plans can be submitted to the Innovation Agency until 12 February 2025.
The full terms and conditions of the call are available on the European Union Investment website.
The "Digital Vouchers for SMEs" measure is implemented under the European Union Investment Framework Programme for the period 2021-2027.
